Timeless Chow Chows

The Archives of the Chow Chow in Southern Africa

Why a book on the Chow Chow

Ten years ago, I decided to collate the available information on the Chow Chow within Southern Africa into a central book. At the time , several chowists, myself included ,were making bold statements about show wins, champions bred, health tests done and the sequence of events through the annals of time.

With the help of a great number of people, I presented “Timeless Chow Chows Volume 1”.  Back then, I had hoped for more information to become available and in 2017, I decided that there was sufficient to add to my first volume.

I hope that the information in here will be as interesting to you as the journey has been for me in gathering it.

The beautiful cover is designed by Maja Sučević, featuring Kendo, who is the most awarded Chow Chow in the history of the breed within Southern Africa. ( I can now say this with absolute certainty !)

This photo seemed appropriate, Mrs Edith Hogg awarded Kendo his first Reserve Best Puppy in Show in 2006 and this picture was taken in 2014 where Kendo won the challenge commemorating Ken Hogg.
